There is no yellow filter on my camera. This how it looks from the three wildfires burning in Central Washington. 175 miles from me. Not very often you can stare straight into the sun.
JB, I’ve been trying to get you to quit smoking for years, you know that its bad for your health. Lookit what its done to your camera lens!
I think its worse at my house. I can smell the burn…
We have it over here in Bozeman, MT as well, but not as bad. I think our haze is from the WA fires and some fires up in Canada.
According to the news the worst of the smoke will hit the Spokane/Coeur d’ Alene area between 5pm today and last until maybe tomorrow morning because of the high winds. It’s kind of hard working on my railroad with all this smoke in the air. See you guys tomorrow around 11am for the club meeting.
Hey Craig, you’re only in Bozeman, MT head on over tomorrow and meet several of the LSC gang that lives in this area.
Chuck
I wouldn’t drive 366 miles to meet that bunch.
Here’s a graphic from NOAA showing the smoke levels. Yellow is dense!
If I didn’t have to work, I’d consider driving over… Heck I drove from Bozeman to Missoula a few weeks ago for a one hour job interview… If and when we ever visit my sister in Airway Heights area again maybe I could stop by.
Hey Craig anytime you’re headed this way just let us know and you’re welcome to stop by. I always have something cold or hot to drink. Of course if you get that job in Missoula you’ll just be closer and you could become a member. Heck we have members all over the states of Washington, Idaho, and even Canada.
Of course you wouldn’t John, you already belong to it!!!
Chuck,
Regrettably I didn’t get the job, but I’ll keep the invite in mind if we ever end up driving that direction.
i’m stuck on the homefront, but many of my buddies at work are either in Oregon or WA on the fires. you folks stay safe.

JB figured he had to paraphrase Groucho Marx.
BTW it’s still raining, the smoke is less of a bother and I’m frittering my time away … on the 'puter.
And then the wind picked up, BIG TIME!!! A few cars sitting on the elevated section got blown right off; it was “Quality-Testing” time. No damage to the LGB stuff, but oh my the Newquida stuff sure took a hammering. SWMBO quipped “Glue and weather it, nobody gonna be any the wiser.” Right! But I’ll wise up and get the stuff in next time.
Tomorrow will be a day of cleaning up.
Three absolutely brainless idiots shooting at explosives started another fire closer to home.
Growing to 2000 acres and zero contained. Town of Fishtrap evacuated, with Tyler and Cheney on alert.
