Fall is a great time to plant trees. They are all going into their dormant period, and suffer less stress if transplanted now.
I finally got out and cut down some great looking Christmas trees....too bad it is so far from Christmas, but they had just grown too much and needed replacing.
We replanted about a dozen or more smal 1 foot or less Spruce and Cedar trees, to replace the ones we cut down.
I was also given a native Cactus plant…something most of us think only grows in the desert. This one is from the same temperate zone as here in Ottawa, but is from Saskatchewan. It needs a dry place but in the sun, and will handle our frosts.
Now to cut up those old trees and put them out with the garden waste for pick up.
