Track crews expect to drive the final spike on the main line of the (new) Slate Creek Railway sometime this evening… while the sidings at the various points along the way have yet to be completed, this major milestone will mean that trains can now operate out of the yard and around the main line.
Main line trains have not run on the Slate Creek Railway since May 13, 2002. The new line is in a dedicated model railroad space, where the old line had been primarily shelves in a room-to-room arrangement… a large mining operation is planned, among many other users and interests for the railroad.
Photos forthcoming… of course, I have to buy a freight shed so I can post them… Bob, you taking Pay Pal for it yet?
