Skykomish…haven’t been there in over a decade. The moving of structures, remediation of railroad contaminated soils, continues. Noticed the station and freight shed alongside the tracks is gone.
Then we crossed the tracks to the old highway, and realized the station portion of the station has been moved to the south side of the tracks (location of the old power plant), on a new foundation, less the freight shed portion. THEN we saw 7-1/2" gauge tracks around the area where the old power plant was…then a dozer filling gravel…pulled in, concrete crossing with rails installed, tunnel of huge steel galvanized culverts in…asked when they’d have train running…have steam up next Saturday, big figure eight. Amazing!
