It’s not the size, it’s how you use it…

…and I could use some of those LGB-size cars on my layout.

Pity you live so far away, Ray - I currently have twelve I’m looking to ‘move on’…

You’d have to colour half of them in to suit you tho’, right now they are dark green.

Gary, Indeed! Small is beautiful!! Best wishes from Tokyo, Zubi

The more 1:20.3 stuff I aquire, the more pissed I get at LGB for their “not-to-scale”.
But, there wasn’t anything else back then.

John, it is a bit like comparing apples and oranges, indeed both grow on trees... The main concepts around which LGB trains were built are 1) playability 2) cuteness 3) robustness. Using these concepts LGB gave the customers a possibility to run trains which would not only never meet in real life, but would also never be able to run together. On the other hand, the concepts recently favoured by other makers and some modellers are 1) accuracy 2) detail. These are simply nearly mutually exclusive approaches! Nevertheless, there is still more "to scale" LGB than I can afford, and unless LGB gets in trouble again, they may also release some full length US coaches as prototyped for the "old LGB" by Barry Bogs - only time will tell. Best wishes from Tokyo, Zubi
