Site update

One of the things I get asked to do the most, on the order of a handful a week, is change people’s email addresses. Well, I don’t have to do that manually any more, I added code to let you do it yourselves.

So, anyone that I’ve missed, you can fix it up yourself.

Trying it… And it says my email address has been updated. And the correct email address appears in my profile. For the spammers to find?

It says “Private” next to your email…

Or, maybe I’m just not a good spammer?

If you have your email marked private, then, no.

Hay bob why we are on updates. Do you know that your website is not coming up? is this related to the server problem you had? Just thought
I would let you know.

Yea, I should change my profile…

Bob, I’m just curious, but… On my home page here, two areas seem to get cut off, one being the ““Today in History”” are, and the second being in the ““Help Support LSC”” area…

Long comments in the ““Today in history area”” are cut off, and I can’t get the window to open any larger to read the whole sentence…

In the ““Help Support LSC”” area, the PayPal logo is half cut-off…

Maybe, I’m the only one this is happening to…

Andy

Nothing cut off here; Firefox 3.0.5.

But, the buttons in the photo gallery sure do show up weird

Andy: What browser and screen resolution are you running? Are you running with large fonts, or anything like that?

Bruce: EEK! Ill fix that up.

Speaking of photo gallery…I don’t get the slideshow when clicking on a photo. It enlarges the photo a bit…with no way to advance to the next photo without closing the enlarged photo.

you need to pan over the picture and a box will show up saying next on the right side of the picture. if you pan over the left side it will back you up one picture.
hope this helps.

if your set to the wrong screen size you should still get a nave bar at the bottom. one like that on the right side so you can scroll over.

is this the only site that this happends on? or do you mess things up at other sites as well.

its working great for me and my IE6 on this computer and my IE7 on my other one.

Thanks Geoff. That was a big help. Simple enough, but I still missed it :o Ralph

glade I could help.
just don’t tell Andy I did anything nice.

Bob, I know, I should know what your asking, but hey, i’m a computer idiot… My system is operating on Windows XP, and I access thru AOL… I know my icons on my desktop are the small icons… My screen resolution is 1024 X 768…

Did I get anythng that you asked for???

Bob, I tried coming onto LSC via Internet Explorer, <it’s got a symbol with an " E " and a band around the E, running from the top right, to the bottom left>, and get the same thing, it cuts those two areas off…
