Came up with a simple battery setup. Put a on/off switch in a gondola with a 9.6, 1600 mamp battery pack, I got 45 minutes with my RS-3. No RC to mess with.
Guess I’ll move over one of those manual throttle controls I got from Del Taprio, have it in a wood gondola for the old Climax/shay but never run those. I can use it with two battery packs, so would run most of my battery stuff for an hour or more. Had forgotten about it!

I’ve been using some 7.4 volt 4400 mAh Li-ion batteries the same way. The Hartland power trucks and the LGB Toy Train Toy Train 0-4-0 locomotives work very well with that voltage.
