I looked out the window this morning, and noticed that the maple tree is starting to show it’s fall glory. About an hour later, even more change.
Loverly.

I have a swamp maple that started to drop it’s leaves in mid-August starting a year or so ago. I think we pissed it off dumping the washing machine drain over it’s roots.
Definitely does not feel like fall here yet. We just ended a week of over 90 degree temps and 90% humidity. Still hot and somewhat humid, but some relief today.
Last week, in the thick of it, I re-built a failed retailing wall by shoveling just under a ton of 1 1/4 inch stone and moving a couple of dozen wall blocks . I was thinking of challenging Andy to the most T-Shirts soaked through per-hour. The wall did survive torrential rain both Friday and Saturday.
Jon, I can soak 4 T-shirts on 4 wall bricks and 3 shovels of gravel…
Sounds to me like one of those Tom Sawyer challenges…
(or how to get someone to like painting a white picket fence…)
Why in the heck would you two challenge each other?
Hire a couple “Hooters” girls!
…grinning…
It’s 99 here today so it’s not quite fall yet.
