I need to ship an item from CA to CO to a member. I have never shipped stuff before. What would be the best option as far as FEDEX, UPS or USPS? Any input would be helpful. it is a 55’ USA Tank Car.
thanks

I have used UPS and USPS with no problems. Oh I did have one with USPS I sent a train car back to the owner,
I bought on e-bay. Had the owners name address on the front and mailed it. They called and said I had a package to pick up.
It was the same one I just sent out two day ago. I kept it and glue the trailer wheels back on.

I have had success and failures with all the mentioned carriers. I have consistently had the best overall service from UPS though a commensurate increased cost. That being said, be certain to pack it well and don’t rely on indicating that the contents are fragile, regardless of the carrier you choose. I’d also recommend both appropriate insurance and some type of proof of delivery, especially if using USPS.
Good luck!
Thanks for the information!!!
I love the good old USPS. Generally I have found them to be cheaper and equally as reliable. Get their tracking info, doesn’t cost much but helps in case things get lost. But honestly I get get good reliable service that is fairly quick and relatively inexpensive.
