Howdy all… Yesterday via UPS I recieved my Sheridan Long Caboose kit. This is about as close to a ‘shake the box and it falls together’ kit as Ive seen in a while. The body, roof, and interior are assembled already, waiting paint, and there are assorted parts in separate bags. After finding some caboose interior green, I set about painting the interior pieces, body shell, and roof. I also painted the grab iron and steps enamel white. After these dried, I added the detail lines on the interior and installed the hinges and handles. Glued the windows into the appropriate holes, and the interior into the body shell. Put on the grabs, ladders, railings, etc. Decals and clearcoat later, I was just about done. I havent painted the trucks yet, nor installed couplers.
This is a neat kit, and for the price you get a well made, almost complete caboose. Complete assembly time was about 3 hours, and I estimate about 2 hours of that was waiting for paint and/or various glue to dry. Usual disclaimers, etc… -=Bob
