Looking good, Bart!
Almost there!!! Bell, whistle and pops added, generator mounted…
Ended up doing the stenciling with a Microscale Alphabet sheet, one letter at a time…
Looking good Bart
What do you use for graphite? I love the texture.
Your probably going to answer - “Umm, graphite” to which I’ll ask, what keeps it from rubbing off on your hands?
Wish I could be there for the first public showing at Ric’s. Burned all my vacation time for this year between York, Fred’s, a trip to see my Dad and another to the EBT.

That would be Tamiya Acrylic ‘Gunmetal’…does a really good graphite I think…

And prolly my favorite shot!
Soooooo 7 months later and I FINALLY get her official company paint on her!
The stripes and road name are all one decal, printed on white decal carrier to get the required opacity. Same for the road numbers.
The red is a little bright in this “freshly shopped” image, but weathers down quite nicely…more to come…
Gorgeous Bart!
Looks great! The red on top of the tender, matching the roof of the cab, is a nice touch.
As usual.
Terrific.
Will it now fit on everybody else’s layout besides yours?..
Ken,
“Will it now fit on everybody else’s layout besides yours?”
Now be nice. I still occasioanlly find parts, when inspecting the right of way.
Bart,
Looks good. A little grunge happens quickly, once they are put back in service.
Hey - 7 months isn’t bad at all. If I could get a project finished that fast I’d be thrilled Looks great Bart.
Looks great, Bart. Nicely done.
Looks great (and a little mean, ready to pull stumps).

Bart:
Your Shay certainly has lots of lives! Similar to some of the prototypes, except they changed the gauge rather than scale. Still pretty much the same type of use and reuse.
Great looking incarnation!
Happy RRing,
Jerry
Great job on your shay, it looks great with the new paint job! Can you give us some dimensions of your shay?
I think it looks better slightly nastied up!
I agree. Toning down that red makes a world of difference. Nice lookin’ loco.
