Shay - Disassembly

I’ve got a Bachmann 2 truck Shay that apparently needs new batteries. I ran it today, after a full charge, and got all of 15 minutes of run time.

I did NOT do the install on this one, so I don’t have any idea of how to take it apart.

Anyone have directions?

If the oil/coal/water bunker is like the Climax, gently pry out the two hand valves on the top, and the screws are under those valves.

Step 1 pick up phone
Step 2 dial 1+425-823-3507
Step 3 ask Dave

John I believe you are correct, I’ve had mine open before but can’t remember what I did to get to that point!

Screw inside water fill-remove

Old Truck-Plastic Ladder…lift/remove ladder
New Truck-Metal Ladder…leave ladder in place

pry up from rear-2 tabs in front near cab press back-lift out

I think that is what he told me…or something close to that

He has L-Shaped batteries on hand

somehow we always forget George???

Ship it to me I’ll take it apart put it in a box and send it back to you … NO CHARGE!

Thinking Bruce would like to be able to run it again tho.

Call Goodson, he’ll talk you through it.

Got it. Pretty straight forward.
