Servo specs?

It seems from doing a finger resistance test on two servo’s I want to install into a Accucraft Forney they have plenty of power, but I wanted to ask for any feedback based on the specs given for these miniature motors.

The specs given are: Torque; 1.0Kg/cm (VCC=5V), Speed; .1S/60° I have no idea what that means exactly.

Does anyone have a servo unit they are using successfully and can give me the model number or if you have the specs for comparison?

I’m using a Hitec S-85MG servo in my Shay - was recommended by TOC and works fine. It is a “mini” with a metal gear. I think the metal gear is important in a steamer.

$31 at Tower

SPECS: L: 29mm x W: 13mm x H: 30mm (1.14" x 0.51" x 1.18")
Transit: 0.16 sec/60° (4.8V) 0.14 sec/60° (6.0V)
Torque @ 4.8V: 3.0 kg-cm, (41.66 oz-in)
@ 6.0V: 3.5 kg-cm, (48.6 oz-in)
Weight: 21.9g (0.77oz)

EDIT to add comparison…

Speed of yours is nearly identical. Torque on mine is higher, but yours may do fine.

Thanks Jon.

I did not know if these were too anemic with nothing to compare to that someone has used and functions successfully.

It should be worth the fabrication effort to fit these in to the small space going by this.

I’d say if you have them, try them. Can always upgrade later if needed. The torque is a third less, but I think that 3kg/cm on mine is probably over kill for a steam valve.
