Senator Kennedy

My hat’s off to Teddy Kennedy! What a trooper. A day after receiving the diagnosis of a malignant tumor in the brain that is not operable, he decides to go sailing. Bravo Zulu, Teddy!

Even though I disagree with the Senator on almost all of his political positions, and fervently hope that a true conservative soundly defeats him in the next election (fat chance), I would not wish this on him or anyone. I pray for his speedy recovery, and for smooth sailing through the chemo and radiation therapy. Fair winds and following seas, Ted.

Don’t think I’ve ever agreed with him, but I wish him well.

Take some time off and relax.

Sorry guys…its just desserts for driving off the bridge and killing that poor young lady many years ago. I can only hope its the result of a guilty conscience slowly eating away at him.

Well that took didnt take long to derail…

But he's not dead yet! Not even close actually!

Not attacking but just saying!

Now stop it! All of you!

well stated TAC!

Still classy! I love people who feel that other people’s suffering is a punishment for their sins, that they deserved it. So self -righteous!. By that logic, the sufferings of the british at the hands of the IRA were justice, no? Or at least, they could be regarded that way, by your logic. Or do only you get to make those judgements?

My point wasn’t really to defend Kennedy, it was to deride gloating at other people’s death. If you want to gloat about other people’s death that is your karmic problem; if you want to see suffering only on one side of a conflict that’s also your karmic problem.

Should I tell you stories about my ancestors, driven from the land by the British, starving, dispossesed? Would that make it ok for me to gloat about the death of British soldiers? Not by my lights, but, it seems, by yours

Not gloating, Mr O'Malley, just quietly satisfied that one particularly fat old chicken is finally going home to roost.

Gotta remember that next time you have some chicken soup, eh!

I knew there was a reason I stayed away from this thread. Right wingers grave dancing! I could sink down to your level but will refrain from doing so.

Thankyou, Brian. Let’s let this one die, eh? And I do mean THIS THREAD!
