Sculpting beavertail cactus; visitors to the layout

Recently I made a bunch of scale beavertail cactus for the railroad. Each one was hand sculpted from Premo brand polyclay – the same material I use to make the human and animal figures. They really add a lot to the scenery! Here are a few pics, beginning with this one:

Also: On Saturday, May 29th we invited all our neighbors to come see the railroad. It’s been two years since the last time we did that, so there was a lot of new things for them to see. And for many of the neighbors it was their first time seeing the railroad. I only have a few pics – as usual, when things got busy I forgot to take more pics:
