Large Scale Central

Scratch built dead steam hauler

Here is something to stir the thought processes. http://www.gscalemad.co.uk/forum/index.php?showtopic=491

Hi, Tony.

Amazing what some modelers can do. Saw that it has RCS for control, thus your interest and connection. “RCS - The Garden Modeler’s R/C of Choice.” … or something like that. (“Large Scale” instead of “Garden”?)

Sorry to hijack your thread, but how many model train forums do you (have to?) monitor? Anyone else helping in that area? (Two boards keep me way too busy.)

Sincerely,

Joe Satnik

Hello Joe.

The owner builder also makes a low cost sound system here in Australia known as MyLocosound.

The steam is very good for the money.
The diesel not bad but not as good as the steam.

Just ordered one to play with…does it go in basically the same as a Sierra with an EVO throttle?

Hi Bart.

Pretty much the same except it can eadPWM OK. Noneed for an opto interface.
Can be wired for either high or low trigger on the whistle.

It is certainly not a deep throated big steam sound. Great for small loks.

Im pondering ordering the diesel one (actually, 2) for the big diesel project. Two power plant sounds. Might be neat. Certainly cheap enough.

Bob, if you poke around Peter’s website there are links to a couple of youtube clips so you can hear them.
