Beautiful workmanship…
Grand modeling on a handsome diesel.
And, ooohh that maroon colored Garratt behind it … gorgeous.
Damn nice Gary To. The brass frame and added details really set thisone off
Really terrific detail , Gary . Nice model , well done .

That’s insane! Wow!!!
I would be so afraid to handle that gem, that I don’t think I would ever put it on the tracks to run it. With all those nice details, I would be afraid of knocking them off.
Can’t stop looking at it! WOW. Love that level of detail.
Joe, yes, its a display quality model. Darn nice work there. But I would be scared to actually run it on my railroad. I would be afraid parts would get knocked or pulled off of it.
I’m a huge fan of the high nose diesels.
Beautiful work!
Terry

I wouldn’t be admitting to casting parts from companies that are in business, especially if you ever sell to someone else, personal use might be ok, if you sell it, then there would be copyright problems
Great modeling though
Hi Mark, I known the copyright problems, and I mention before, the casting high nose is for my personal use only. Thanks for your advise;-)
It was my understanding that a 10% difference was enough, the shrinkage in molding and casting is usually enough. Gary mentioned a thinner cast and narrow to other parts…
Beautiful work and patience!
John
The practise of taking casts of commercial items has been discussed at some lengths in Military Modelling circles , and the conclusion was if it is for personal use only , it is quite legal ; even the manufacturers reluctantly agreed this to be the case . If you read the warning notices on some kit boxes you would realise that manufacturers are not bothered at all about personal use , one such warning read (from memory) The making of copies of the contents of this kit in any form (except for personal benefit) is illegal and offenders will be prosecuted .
Considering that a start up moulding kit costs $40 in the UK , I doubt that many people would try to pirate items for commercial reasons . It is a time consuming , smelly mucky job and I only mould stuff that is out of production . In any case , the commonly pirated items are usually available from cottage industries , so paying $40 to obtain something that is available for $7.50 ready done is a bit daft , and the practise of copying is largely self regulating . Except by professional rip-off merchants .
It is interesting to note that an outlet that I buy moulding stuff from has a large warning notice behind the serving counter stating that taking copies of commercial items for gain is illegal .
In general , I only copy my own masters . Perhaps I should sue myself .
