Sci-Fi and Aircraft Modeling

I build all sorts of models… Aircraft in 1:144 scale, I prefer Warbirds, but modern rotorcraft really intrigue me…this is an AH-64D Apache Longbow I built from a REvell kit. The canopy comes as one clear piece, yes I masked off all the windows so I could paint the frames, really proud of that piece…

(yes its sitting on a 4x6 note card) I also do Scifi Modeling, Mostly Capital Ships in 1:2500 scale… This is a DSC-304 from the Stargate series…completely scratchbuilt from sheet styrene…won a Bronze Medal for it at Wonderfest in Louisville last year…

And of course…the most recognizeable one…

USS Constitution (NOT the Enterprise) also sitting on a 4x6 index card…

That’s cool!

I looked at a big “Enterprise” kit from the series with Capt. Archer. Was tempting. Might have gone for it if it was the one returning to Earth at the end of the 1st series with all the holes in the hull and such

Well…thats easy enough to Accomplish …especially on a 1:350 scale NX Class…

Very cool. What did you use to mask the windows on that heli?

Masking tape…Very thin specialized masking tape…but still masking tape…

I used to do all those kits too, Trek, Wars, Gundam, Macross, also sailing ships, but I just got burned out on them. Still got most of them in boxes out in the garage and a few unbuilt kits just in case the urge to do one ever strikes agian. Something about making kenetic RR models in large scale thats much more appealing, plus the SciFi kits tended to eat up lots of space.
