Yeah, Korm… don’t ever do that again.
I was about five minutes away from thawing the German Emergency Bacon, and maybe doing a web search in Guarni.
With that in mind, I believe I was in the process of developing Kummerspeck—literally “grief bacon”—the extra weight acquired through emotionally motivated snacking while waiting for someone to post.
After six weeks of radio silence, however, you were drifting dangerously close to Backpfeifengesicht territory. Not because of your face, but because disappearing without so much as a “still alive” post is behaviour that practically earns a ceremonial wake up slap.
I therefore propose the Large Scale Central Welfare Check Protocol Wiki (LSCWCPW v1.0):
Week 1: “He’s probably out running trains.” Don’t panic.
Week 2: Send a polite PM.
Week 3: Post a thread asking if anyone has heard from him.
Week 4: Commence controlled international thawing of the Emergency Bacon to combat developing Kummerspeck.
Week 5: Appoint Cliff as the Ernstfall (our officially designated “serious case” contingency officer). He’s been closer to both the North and South Poles than the rest of us, so he’s clearly the logical choice for expeditions into the wilderness, and he also thought about PM.
Week 6: Deploy Cliff with coffee, GPS, a bacon sandwich and full Backpfeifengesicht authorisation. If Korm is located, he is required to post a minimum of three railway photos and explain himself.
Failure to comply automatically resets the protocol… and requires a written excuse from Korm’s mum and doubles the bacon allocation.
Glad you’re back!
