Running on the Bear Flatts RR

After a few months of zero progression on the RR i decided it was time to get it done. I finished shoveling 4 tons of dirt and rock this week and finished up all of the track work. I only need to get a few buildings now and plan to build a logging camp. As time goes on the layout will get more and more added to it, and more details will begin to pop up. The trains ran great with zero derailments. It sure makes it so much more fun without having to deal with “downed” trains. Here are a handful of pictures from my run last night. I will post a video later of my ten wheeler and shay running today.

Hope you enjoy! Matt

Matt, nice pictures, and a good looking railroad…

Thanks Andy, here is a follow up with my video along with the finishing of the upper logging loop.

Nice layout Matt.

You have some really nice equipment there and it looks even better chugging along your trackage. How does the live steam like the grades going up that embankment?
Todd

Thanks guys!

Todd,
I built the upper loop specifically for logging(shays). I ran the Shay up it yesterday and it never once hesitated. It is a beautiful thing, and even better, the speed is just about the same coming downhill. I don’t know if I will try the ten-wheeler up the hill or not… lol. All of my electric equipment will have a run at it though.

Matt

Nice job Matt. Thanks for the pix and video!

Thanks Richard, any time. There will be plenty more updates to come. There is still a lot more work to come, but at least trains are running and I am having fun!

Great Pics!

Matt, Your very last word you posted is the key… never lose sight of that.
