After almost 2 months of no running because of the snow I finally had the chance to run some trains yesterday and today. I had my Climax out running with the scratch built log cars and work caboose. Half of the layout is clear of snow while the other half is still snow covered. The logging camp and mine sidings are still under snow. Cant wait to see things start to grow again and get green. Now I just have to wait for my brush pile to thaw out so I can get some logs for the cars.
Really nice, Shawn.
My RR is still under 5 inches of “compact snow and ice,” along with another 2 inches of day old snow. Looking out the window as I type this, it is snowing again.
Glow Ball War Ming, anyone?

Nice pics Shawn. I like that Climax. It looks just like the ghost Climax you sent to me.
That’s great. I still have some very sizable ice obstacles. I can operate about 20% or so of the track. Need to find me one of those kid size shovels for under $25 like they are at the local hardware.
How did my cabin hold up ??
Very nice Shawn, climax and log cars look great.

Always nice to see pictures of your layout.
Nearly 50F here today so I decided to do my best to open at least some of the line. I had to resort to hand shoveling and the use of hot water to melt some ice, but the branch to Northville is open. It will be a while yet before the main-line into Deep Cut, and the East Leg are open - just too much ice. An inspection train was run out to Northville. Lots of pictures were taken, but unfortunately I had the camera set wrong and most of them were too dark to see. Near the end of the run I noticed the setting and did manage to get a few shots of the second run up to Northville. Here Porter #3 shoves the inspection train across the West Escape` bridge…

Bright sun broke through the clouds just as #3 was taking the switch for the Northvile Branch at Indian Hill Junction…
Nice shots Jon

Looks like a nice run.
I think the A climax is great.
I still have thick ice on the north run next to the deck.
But my inside track is running hot and heavy.

Getting heavy rain today and warm temps yesterday melted the rest of the snow on my line. Everything is open. Still patches in the yard and snow in the woods but i think after today it should be gone with the exception of snow piles and drifts. Now i cant wait to do some improvments to the line and add more plants.
That warm rain is here today. Most of the snow in yesterday’s pics is gone. The main-line has almost opened itself
