Jim, I really like how you simply give the allusion of pipe fittings but they look realistic a short distance away. Great job.
Yeah I figured it will be painted and weathered and done to you looks real standards! Nice to add another little bit of knowledge on the build things
Working on workshop doors, inspired by Dave’s. But I don’t have mold/cast skills so will just build each door by hand.
Start with a 4” x 4” piece of PVC sheet (8’ in 1:24 scale), scribe horizontally on 3/16” spacing to represent the planks. Surround with a couple of 1/4 styrene (once for the door, one slightly thicker for the frame). Add diagonals. Still to do are hinges, lock, pulls. And the second door.
Zen calmness in the styrene sculpting…
Ahaaaaa… Imitation is the highest form of flattery…
Do I need to file a cease and diceast order for copyright violation? NOT!!
I guess I really do need to finish up my class on mold making and casting in resin…
That looks good.
Curious if that’s PVC sheet from Pennsyltucky ? I loved modeling with PVC sheets.
Yes indeedly, that is straight from the stash you sent me years ago. Using it heavily this build, both here and the steam engine.
Thanks, @Rooster !!!
Noted the different width scribe lines and …wait…I try to stay out of Mik threads and let them flow as I don’t want to be called a lobbyist or show some type of favoritism. Honestly I have my eye on…AHHHHHH shut up ROOSTER !
Looking good Jim i like the doors.
Looks great. Between you and Dave I have door envy.
Thanks @Hines for the furniture pointers. Sadly I think I won’t get to that in time. It is pretty certain I will be a DNF this Mik, for the first time. Sad.
I continue to plod along. One set of doors is ready for paint. I have some of the platform and workshop skeletons together. Too much to do and too little time.
simply WOW!
but you got about 100 hours left.
get some coffee and some energy drinks, mix them and get going!
I don’t like your door… but only because it’s way way better than mine.
I here panera bread sells a tea that will all but guarantee you finish on time. There is a disclaimer it might stop your heart.
Oh Darn… I love tea… preferred drink… With an Implanted Defibrillator I wouldn’t have to worry about the heart stopping… But so sad, no Panera Bread around here…
