Daniel - I went to a Vacuum Cleaner Hospital - (Repair Shop) and bought a Hoover Metal Impeller for $5.00 They are starting to make them all out of plastic now but you can still find some metal ones. I put a carriage bolt through it and will put it into a drill. It is 5" in diameter. here is a photo

I’m still working on my rotary - it will be a more modern one, but with the no snow winter we have had in New England I;ve been in no hurry Scott Scott Suleski www.suleskitransportation.com
I found a 5" metal one on Ebay but paid through the nose for it, like $24 with the shipping. I found that there are not that many 5" metal ones out there. My thoughts: the 5" will cut a wider path which should be better for tighter curves adn metal seems better than plastic for cutting. maybe not? The downside is that most largescale cars are about 4" wide. I used a USATrains bunk car for my build and I had to build a custom shroud for it. I found that most pipes and flanges etc work well with a 4" but a 5" pipe part is not a size you can get off the shelf. A friend suggested using a blast gate from a work shop vac system but I was well on my way with the custom so I didn’t persue that. A 4" blade is easier to find and cheaper to buy.
I live in New England like Scott and no snow makes for a sorry sad rotary operator.
