For those of you who look for interesting cars to build.

There’s a lot of fiddly bits in that one!

LIVE poultry? Well, there goes “DEAD Rooster Gulch”…(https://www.largescalecentral.com/externals/tinymce/plugins/emoticons/img/smiley-foot-in-mouth.gif)

I built the HO Ambriod kit 55 years ago!

Bruce I believe that’s the End of the line!

I suspect a lot of us made a bunch of those old kits…They were fun and a great introduction to learning how to really model.

It could be on its way to DRG!

Chis,

Perhaps you ,U, Ewe should start from the ground upward…Note the brake wheel and it how connects, then move upward or perhaps stay below with a focus on the link and pin couplers…aahhh forget about all that as it’s nothing but feathers…ASK yourself how would would they install HEP cabling through that car after adding the proper Barber S2 trucks. Amtrak badging is easy !

Here’s a little more modern poultry car.

It looks to me just like a regular boxcar that someone forgot to plank on the outside. Most have that kind of framing under the skin.

Sounds like a challenge. To make it authentic I will make it out of stainless steel. paint red, white and blue stripes on it and then throw the car in the ditch…(https://www.largescalecentral.com/externals/tinymce/plugins/emoticons/img/smiley-foot-in-mouth.gif)

Actually, it does present an interesting challenge, the idea of complete scratch build or hacking up a box car is one to think about.

Not quite and I know it doesn’t interest you Pete but I dare you to think about building one!

Yeah it’s all cut and dry …no detail there!

I am happy and dare-free when it comes to thinking about making one. However, it will have to wait until I finish that caboose, build the Regner Heisler kit, test/polish and sell the Aster Reno, fit a new front truck on my Mason Bogie, etc., etc.

It’s been almost 30 days Chris …any progress?

No, but there is a fresh batch of chicks at the local hatchery so I’m thinking about a live load.
