Rocky Mountaineer to Whistler

On Thursday we travelled to Vancouver to join 15 other family members Friday morning to take the Whistler Sea to Sky Train. 3 1/2 hours each way with a 4 hour stop in Whistler. The train is pulled by 2 GP40-2’s and consists of a Generator car, 6 Coaches, and the ‘Henry Pickering’, a open coach built in 1916 for the CPR. Waiting to board in North Vancouver

Going along Howe Sound.

Going past the old Brittania gold/copper mine.

A few shots going up the Cheakamus Canyon, a steady 2.2 % climb for 15 miles, the 2 Geeps were working Hard.

The Olympic Rings in Whistler.

Returning back to Vancouver.

And the Henry Pickering.

Hi Randy,

That one and the one running Whistler to Jasper is on my video list for this summer. I sure hope the weather will smarten up, soon!!

That’s a wild looking paint job on those cars, not to mention some nice scenery…

Good stuff Randy!!
