Rockin' and Rollin' the AV on a summer evening

Anybody else ever notice that when it gets hot and sticky the bloody rocks all get HEAVIER? It was about 90 today, and very humid, with an ozone warning… And some dummy was out in it pretending he was a dump truck! I still need to go after about 3 more loads, but the hardest part is almost done – I hope… Tunnel #2 at hitch gap was the big project for today. If the ground is solidly covered with rocks (over cinder blocks), then I won’t have to MOW it anymore, right? I’m hoping it looks close enough to a cliff overhanging the water to justify the tunnel.

The rock facing on the big fill got extended a little more. I still have about 8 feet to go.

The short Monday evening mixed train starts for home after delivering a small load of supplies for the mine, and dropping off the night shift.

Mixed train rollin’ out of Tunnel #1 and drifting into town with tired miners going home from their day’s labors.

The restored station at Kimberly. If you look close, you can still see some giant damage.

That’s all for today. Tomorrow evening I get to go after MORE rocks.

Did you put weed cloth under those rocks? Those pesky weeds will come up anyway in our yard.

Mik great pictures as always. Just an idea get some small plant containers and throw them in between the rocks and plant some stone crop. Eventually it will overhang the rocks.

Yes, I have noticed. Saturday I moved a few large Belgium blocks and installed them as a border. By Monday it was much hotter and I wasn't in love with the blocks, so I pulled them up. It was a lot harder moving them Monday than it was Saturday :D

Your railroad is looking better each time you show it !

I work very hard never to learn things like that.
