Large Scale Central

Roadbed

I’ve seen these blocks on some European layouts. I have never seen them sold anywhere in this country. They lend themselves perfectly to building a base for track, if you want a solid base. Here is a Youtube video showing the blocks. They appear at 8:30 in the film.

I found those same blocks at both Home Depot, and at Lowes. I’m guessing that you’re referring to the blocks that form the border.

If he’s talking about the edgers, about 14 inches long (haven’t measured them lately) with a rounded end and a cupped end for the next one to fit in, I’ve had those in my yard for a decade… Lowes and/or Home depot is where I got mine…

This stuff looks nicer, and has a flange to stop grass

Hey those are dang neat Greg. Wonder how stack-able they could be in order to make the bed for my RR. I was going to stack basalt (which is free and that is always a contributing factor) but these have a very nice look.

It looks like they are made to stack but how high I wonder.

They are resin, so I don’t think they will stack as high as concrete, but you’re welcome to google for more information (http://www.largescalecentral.com/externals/tinymce/plugins/emoticons/img/smiley-tongue-out.gif)

Greg

I actually did google them (http://largescalecentral.com/externals/tinymce/plugins/emoticons/img/smiley-laughing.gif)(albeit not very hard) and did not come up with that answer. Everything I found shows them in one course. None the less they are cool and may have to check them out.

Of course Basalt is still free and I don’t need to Google it to now I can stack it. (http://largescalecentral.com/externals/tinymce/plugins/emoticons/img/smiley-wink.gif)

BTW do you own stock in Google(http://largescalecentral.com/externals/tinymce/plugins/emoticons/img/smiley-money-mouth.gif)

Hmm, I thought the picture above shows 2 courses, but going to their site (see the brand name in the link, search Emsco edging), it appears thatis all one piece, and apparently 12" high… drat… And they don’t make anything else like it.

Oh, well, I tried.
