I am new, sort of, to out side trains. I have made one layout but took it out later.
Share some tips for making a good ground level beds please.
I was thinking of excavating and laying in landscape timbers about the size of RR ties and tacking the track to it then ballasting. That seems like a lot of work and expense.
How would you do it?
