Every Christmas, my wife and I visit a large train display at Snow’s home center in Orleans, MA. It is a lovely display that attracts tons of visitors. The owner is an avid LGB collector and has a RIGI dual cable car on display. I was rather intrigued with the unit and was interested in obtaining one for my own g scale layout. When searching on ebay, I found that even the old hand-crank (non-electric) version was going for approx. $100. The dual car electric system is about $300! Wow! A bit too rich for my budget, based on really what it is.
Just my 2 cents worth…
John,
Keep looking there were several different versions of this made over the years. From tin cars to plastic with few if any mold changes. Hand cranked single and double trams, power pack powered single and double trams, and the “store” display version which was 110 powered in the store I worked at and was difficult to get. I believe that Axel from Train-li can get a newer version of this too with an updated modern gondola? Bottom line if this is somehting you watn keep looking you will find one of the options in your price range or closer than what you’ve been seeing to date.
