Ride Along on the Tortoise & Lizard Bash Beer Train

It was the end of the day and I wanted to try out the new Gear Pro camera. It fit so well in the vertical position on the front of the GP-9, with just the hand rail to hold it in place, so that format was used. Now I know better.

So ride along through the various loops.

Nice. Liked the passing trains at speed. Tom

Thanks, I tried the camera in the horizontal format yesterday simply mounted on a set of trucks with a 1/4-20 thread screw in the center and the field of view is excellent, except for the fisheye distortion toward the ends. In its protective plastic case, this puts the camera right at the fireman’s windshield height, and the camera can be aimed down a bit for the fireman’s point of view, just inside the left rail.

Because the camera centers between the wheels (fore/aft), it follows the track rather than what the hood of the cab is seeing.

OK, you can now take a ride around the “figure 8” in the correct format and see what it really looks like. Be sure to select 1080P at the “cog.”

For the running shots of my train, I just set the camera on top of one of the cars.

Yes, but you have such a nice train to include in your photos.
