Here is the view from Dallas Divide, between Ridgway and Placerville at about 9000 feet:
Fall come early up there, doesn’t it? Gorgeous.

Yes, Steve it does! Rode the C & T SRR in the middle of September and the trees were starting to change then! And got snowed on in Buffalo WY the week before! And it was cool but GREAT! Made the long ride from Chama. I’d go back in a minute! Love that Coal smoke! and all those K’s.

Never made it out there in the fall, it was fantastic enough during the summer…Nice Pic!
Ive ridden the CTS three times, every time in early October. Beautiful!
Beautiful pic!
What trees have the red leaves?
Don, I’m tempted to say, “The red ones,” but I won’t. Giddy from a lack of sleep. Good thing I’m not operating any heavy equipment.
Uh oh. I did say that, didn’t I?
Great picture Bob! Red Mountain Pass, the San Juan Range and the Durango & Silverton NGRR is one of our favorite places to visit for the fall color change. This part of the Rockies is noted for bright yellow and especially the orange variety of aspens. The Million Hwy is a “must do” when you get to that part of Colorado this time of year.
Not to slight the C&TS RR - we have ridden the train at fall color change many times. GREAT trip! I would highly recommend both trips if one gets the opportunity.
