Revo with sound is here!

All good points Greg. My point is many “appear” to be disparaging the Revo system for its admitted short comings but also apparently ignoring its advantage…cost!

Personally I am not a big “sound guy”. Even my expensive sound equipped locos run silent 90% of the time. I have literally dozens of locomotives, equipping even half of them at $200.00 a pop sends my accountant running.

I praise Phoenix/others for their fidelity and realism. I do not however see a value proposition with their product that makes sense to me. It seems to me the new Revo is what many have asked for, reasonable performance for a reasonable cost.

I have to agree with you, Mark. I'd have bought the original QSI at $140 if I was running DCC. But since I run battery power, adding the G-Wire card just boosted the cost too high for me.

I’m not running museum quality trains. If I was, I could afford, and certainly would go for something like the new QSI.
The new Revo hits the sweet spot pricewise. As soon as the steam unit hits the shelves…I’m in.

OK Ralph.
I meant the “half socket” as described by Greg. Is that still definitely included?

or you could buy a wooden whistle for a few bucks. My controler is my 3 year old. It goes off at all random times Lol

Well, lets put it this way, generic diesel sound is certainly no sound revolution. Certainly not when one considers what is on the market along with the progress that has been made in the electronics field. More likely it is one more "half baked" proprietary system.

As always, just my opinion.

According to Scott Polk, there will be downloadable sound in the future. Of course, we’ve come to know just what “in the future” means from these guys. :stuck_out_tongue:

Easy, folks.

I agree that generic sounds are no revolution. Nor is a basic r/c system.

But to be fair, the Aristo is a cut above this.

You have control with a lot of features, much more than a simple R/C system, and they have add generic, but good sound for a total package that cannot be rivaled at this price point.

This system is not for me, but it will more than fill the bill for many people, and that’s really a good niche that Aristo has carved out. There’s really no one else in this niche…

There’s nothing dumb about that!

Here is what is included with the new Revolution receiver with sound.

Note the adapter board now has screw terminals.

I really LIKE the new adapter board!

When the downloadable sound becomes available, Aristo will have a true “Revolution!” :stuck_out_tongue: I’m looking forward to that for my fleet of Aristo this n that.

I guess I’m a little behind the information curve…Down-loadable sounds in the future??? Sweet.

I have decided to hold off and wait for the steam units as I only have one diesel I would consider adding sound (most of my diesels are LGB and already have it).

Sound is not that important to me but it seems to be a big hit for the public at our club layout. The vast majority of them could not tell the difference between the sound of a yard switcher and a Dash 9.

“Here is what is included with the new Revolution receiver with sound. …PIC …”

Thanks Paul !!
