Retailer Close-out Sale

Hey Guys;

I thought everyone would be interested to know that California & Oregon Coast Railway has some interesting “Close-out” sales going on at www.cocry.com. I just bought a Accucraft Fn3 C&S Flat Car for $36.00 plus shipping. Thats below dealer cost.

They also have code 332 three point track gages for $19.95. Like the ones that Bob is using to build his switches. I was going to manufacture some on my CNC router, but I can’t buy the material for that cost.

There were some other close-out specials as well, you might want to check it out. Happy Railroading!!

Chuck

Thanks for the heads up Chuck. More flatcars are on the way to the J&B. Now I just have to figure out what to build!

Wow!

Bruce and Chuck, you will have to let us know when you receive your orders. I hope that COCRY can deliver and stay in business, because they do have good pricing.

I just ordered a set of reefers, and some joiners. We’ll see when they come. I’ve ordered a ton of stuff from Strech before, I hope he can stay in biz.

According to his post on the site, he is still in business, but just not full time because of the economy.

I know how that works. Up until August of last year I had two businesses. My cabinet shop and the train business I’ve run for over 20 years. Between the bad economy and a bicycle accident that revealed I have CML a form of leukemia, I have had to close the cabinet shop and move all my equipment home and the train business has taken a back seat until I can get back on my feet. You just have to do what ever it takes and live one day at a time.

The good news is, my meds are working and I’m trying to use my CNC Router to create income. The new shop should be finished by the end of May and I have been working on some building kits for our hobby. I’m also recontructing my layout but I don’t have any pictures yet. I’ll save that for a new post under the “Track” section.

I’ll let everyone know when my items arrive. Happy Railroading.

Chuck

Looks like it’s the season for closeouts etc. I buy BTS kits and they have 10-15-20% discounts depending on the $'s spent.

Walthers has a big sale going on too plus an extra 10% for phone orders.

I know I have seen a few others the memory is short. Old age will get you sooner or later. I have held off but lost the battle …

TOF in Lost Wages

Just ordered a set of reefers, thanks for the heads up.

Ordered some gondolas and a flat. The gondolas are a half buck cheaper than the flat, and the sides come off leaving a flat. I don’t really need any flats, but I might use some as boxcar bases. Time will tell.

Prices are real good, but no stock level listed I think there’s a chance not everyone will get their full order, if anything at all. Since I really shouldn’t have ordered I won’t be upset if he can’t ship.

Thats where I am, Jon. Do I need more rolling stock? No, but 4 reefers for $150 is hard to pass up.

Yep I snagged a pair of reefers too…

Great prices, though I need to create some more shelf space before I get any more freight cars. Of course, it’s worth it just for the trucks…

Later,

K

Anyone heard anything in regards to their order?

I got a confirmation email from his website, but nothing further. I’m not expecting anything quick. Stretch is still working a full time job over and above trying to get his train business back on the tracks. Might try calling at various times of the day - or emailing.

Did you guys get your stuff?

I see that the C&OCRy home page has now been changed to simply say “We are closed.”

Too bad. Stretch was a really good supplier with some great products and stock that are not easily available elsewhere. The Eze Air pneumatics are just one example.

Happy RRing,

Jerry

I guess I can throw away my order confirmation. I really shouldn’t have made the purchase anyway.

I never did get any response to my e-mails.

I’m confused about the “sale” a few months ago. Seems like a lot of trouble to go for nothing.

Yep. Oh well.

Don’t know Stretch…by willing to bet he was flooded with e-mails and cannot handle this day and age of electronics
