Rerailing on a trestle

Think you’re Big Hauler is tough to rerail follow along on this adventure in North West Oregon.
Three videos but interesting to watch.

Couldn’t even guess what this little adventure in railroading must have cost the company. Do they have insurance for such mishaps, could they even get insurance to cover something like this?

Hey Rick,
I have been watching the progress on this mishap. Amazing engineering in the field. Something like this ould make an interesting thing to model.

Thanks Rick, fascinating. That temp bridge looks far more substantial than the wood trestle, I wonder if they can complete it and put it in service.

Yet again, another derailment. At least this time it isn’t on a trestle.

Hey Rick,

It appears that they need to survey the entire yard and repair/replace track as needed. I too have been following along.

Regarding the initial derail, I was surprised they put the trestle back in service so quickly. Maybe I’m totally misinterpreting what I saw, but to me it looked like some outer sills of the trestle were badly broken, perhaps causing the initial derailment?

Cliff, as our designated Overachiever, I think you should go and inspect it.
