Request for identification of LGB principals

Would HJ, or others who have current LGB vocabulary, please give an update as to the current principals involved in the LGB ownership
discussion. Principal names do enter the conversation and they leave it.

The following may be helpful in garnering information about the status of the LGB company – whether LGB of America or LGB of Germany.

As of May 1, 2007:

Who now actually owns LGB of America as seen by the German court? U.S. court? U.S. District Court, Or?
Who is defending that they actually own LGB of America?
Are the LGB of America owners also the registered owners of G45?
Is G45 a marketing or alternative name for LGB of America?
Is LGB of Germany or was LGB of Germany the registered owner of LGB of America prior to the reported bankruptcy?
Is there a financially solvent corporation now involved in the purchase of either or both LGB of America and LGB of Germany?

Thanks,

Wendell

Good questions…now to find someone “Daring” enough to answer the questions.
This stated, because whom ever tries to give honest answers to the best of their knowledge; will be condemmed by anyone that doesn’t get answers that appeal to them.
I gathered this by reading all of the past “Bashing” of anyone that seems to be trying to make any sense out of the bits of information that are available…even an honest attempt at translation gets the translator bashed by anyone that doesn’t hear what he/she/it, wants to hear…

So.....answer these questions at your peril........but I hope some daring person does try.

On with the saga.......of collector's anguish; lovers' quarrels; and villains' revenge.....!!!!

Fr.Fred

Fred, thanks for indicating the questions to be worthwhile.

Also, to Fred and to those who may have information responding to my above posting:

Unfortunately, those who choose to misconstrue genuine interest in the status of LGB may do so. I doubt that any non-judgment responses to the questions will be met with disparaging remarks. I hope not.

Anyone wishing to make prejudical judgments as to my motives wanting information, please do not attack the responders, instead attack me for wishing the data.

Wendell,

Note: I am not a lawyer, I am not a banker! I am just an interested bystander who is mighty intrigued by what has transpired and even more intrigued by what thus far is not for publication!

To the best of my abilities and what has become public knowledge:

a) as far as is known the German courts have not been asked to decide who owns LGBoA. It is public knowledge that LGBoA was either “transferred” or “sold” to G45. Interpretations of either term have not been rendered by a court in this particular case.

b) The assets of LGBoA have either been “transferred” or “sold” to G45. G45 is therefor supposedly the owner of the LGBoA assets - whatever they may be! The ownership of G45 is unknown since a Delaware incorporated entity is not obliged to devulge details.

c) The purpose of G45 is not known (see b) but usually Delaware incorporations include everything (including the proverbial kitchen sink) to leave enough latitude. Note to Jack B: Yes, I learned all that by starting with the relevant entries in Wiki and following the links; yes, there are those who think I have too much time and I’m much too curious!

d) Interchange the one for the other and you will still not know! What is known David Buffington is President of G45, Anthony Castellano is President of LGBoA. BTW LGBoA is registered in California as a DE corporation.

e) Incorporation Dates? Hmmmmmmmm very good question! Let me get back to you on that, it’s somewhere in the files here!

e) Since when is LGBoA for sale? Yes, there are several financially solvent parties interested in the insolvent EPL Patentwerk oHG, in alphabethical order Intro/LGBoA, Kingsbridge Capital/Märklin, perhaps Piko. It is known the first two are bidding, the third has not been documented as a bidder.

HJ-

As usual, your clearly stated and worthwhile responses are appreciated – especially this summary.

Wendell,

If past experience is anything to go by … hmmmmmmmmmmm let’s see what happens next!

To put it right out in the open, some of those who object very loudly are well organized and get their orders from “above”!

Wendell,

More later, we’re off to a German movie with English subtitles. I’ll be busy reading to check if they did a good job.

HJ, have you seen the Germam movie “Downfall”, every time the subtitles come on for “Goring” it reads “Gring”, that is bad translating spoken German for written English!
Best Wishes from Oz (Australia).

Hi Danny,

No, I haven’t seen that one. Last night’s was “The lives of others”, plays in the GDR circa 1984, the subtitles were acceptable.

On the “Göring”, an old joke goes like this (when translated):

A fishmonger in Southern Germany during the Nazi era had a special way to “advertise” his wares.
At the market he would call out in a very loud voice: “Herring, herring as fat as Göring!” Of course he ended up before the “Richter” and got 2 weeks in the slammer, with a reminder of “Anymore of that and the punishment will be more severe next time!”
After getting out, the fishmonger is back at his market stall with a slightly modified slogan: “Herring, herring just as fat as three weeks ago!”

BTW there was a Honecker joke (or two or three  ) in the movie, some won’t translate but this one does:

"What does Erich Honecker do first thing in the morning? Leans out the window and calls to the sun “good morning, Sun” and the sun answers “Good morning, Erich”
Same routine at noon.
Same routine in the afternoon.
Honecker leans out the window after the sun has set and calls: “Good night, Sun” No answer, so he repeats it. Still no answer. He repeats it again, finally :“Kiss my butt, I left for the West!”

Seen both those movies, both are excellent, but “Downfall” is very powerfull and hard to watch, a true window into evil.

Has anyone seen “Goodbye Lenin” another Germie film from a couple of years ago, this one is a comedy set in pre and post wall East Germany. Its about a young man, who’s mother having worked for Socialism all her life, falls into a coma right before the wall falls, when she wakes up after the fall, she still thinks its just like before, not wanting to shock her with all the new changes he goes to extraordinary means to kep the illusion of socialism alive, at least as far as she can see from her bedroom. Comedy ensues. Its a very good film.

I’ll toss another kipper onto the plate, “Kitchen Stories” a Finnish film about a census taker and an old farmer, a low key, very subtle comedy thats a hoot to watch. look for it, its worth it.
