Large Scale Central

Reminiscing

While relaxing after a hot sweaty days work laying track, I picked up a Nov 1996 copy of “Outdoor Railroader”.

It’s interesting to see the adverts. Who’s still here, who’s long gone, who never made it to the big time.
There was some neat stuff for sale back then, if the ads were true.
Inside cover–San Val–gone.
St Charles Station–gone.
Big Train Backshop–?
Isabel Central Enterprises–?
Ryan equipment–?
Row & Company–?
Saxton Car & Foundry–?
Most of the above made some superb Narrow Gauge accessories or equipment.
And lots of others…gone.

Hey page 93.
1/2 page ad for “Remote Control Systems”
the Micro-Titan 8.
One of the few to survive the years.

That’s why, in this hobby, if you see something you like from a little company, better buy it right away, may be gone in a month or two. Jerry
