.OVERVIEW...NWS DES MOINES HAS CONFIRMED 10 TORNADOES FROM THE EVENT
ON OCTOBER 9TH. THE STRONGEST TORNADO WAS RATED EF-2 IN UNION COUNTY
NEAR CRESTON. AN EF-1 TORNADO WAS CONFIRMED IN ADAIR COUNTY. THE 8
REMAINING TORNADOES WERE ALL EF-0'S. KEEP IN MIND THAT THE TORNADO
TRACKS MAY CHANGE PENDING FURTHER INFORMATION. ADDITIONAL TORNADOES MAY
ALSO BE ADDED IN THE FUTURE PENDING FURTHER INVESTIGATION.

.DAY ONE...This afternoon and tonight
River flooding is being experienced or forecast across many rivers
in Iowa due to heavy rains over the past week. Please monitor the
latest river flood watches and warnings and observe any road
closures.
West to northwest winds will increase substantially later today
and tonight, reaching speeds of 20 to 25 mph with gusts to 35 to
40 mph at times. Wind chills will be in the 20s overnight.

River flooding will continue across much of Iowa for the remainder
of the week. Frost and freezing temperatures are also likely
across portions of Iowa on mornings from Thursday onward, and
especially Friday morning.
