Saving our pennies here, and after much discussion between my wife and I, it has been decided to get a Regner Stainz kit in the near future. We have to say with the smaller 0-4-0 engines due to R1 curves on our layout. We are also restricting ourselves to a German prototype. We both looked the Billy and William from RH, I know where there are a few Williams for sale still, and she didnt really like either. The rest of the Roundhouse line is either USA or UK style. I like kits and have built both Aster and Maxwell Hemmens kits. I like that it matches my favorite little LGB engine, has proper allen valve gear that can be “notched” up while running and working drain cocks on the cylinders. Just have to work up the $2200 price for it, gulp, wish these darn locos were not so expensive! Neither of us are interested in accucraft locos, we had one and were not impressed. I will document the build up once it starts, hopefully over the coming winter. Cheers Mike and Michele
