Regner Otto

A package arrived in the mail yesterday from the Train Department. I finally had chance to open it this morning. Im not sure was more excited Ron or me  I told him I would post a picture of it as soon as I got it. Here it is. Now I cant wait to test it out. Ill give a review on it soon.

WOW WOW WOW!!!

Suhhhh-Weeeeeeeeeeeeeeet!

Did you run? It was above 0

Im off tomorrow. Going to run it then. Little too breezy, wind chill well below zero :frowning:

Wimp;)

Great-looking little loco, and sure to be popular over here in yUK, as well. A couple of suitable four-wheel cars trundling behind it, and you are set to go!

My local Regner dealer, Glendale Junction, has just this very minute sent me a notification that it’s in stock, and ready for me to collect if I want one.

It’s very interesting to see that the price difference between here in yUK and over in the US can be accounted for, in part, by the mandatory 20% national sales tax we have to pay here.

That makes importation of most everything from a US dealer a costly venture indeed, as the item lands here in yUK with its declared value, plus insurance AND shipping, and is then taxed on the sum of ALL those figures, and that is before the mail’s so-called ‘handling charges’, which are also compulsory.

I still find it very odd, though, that many items of interest to me that I CAN afford, mainly connected with my other interest, shooting, that are made in Europe, are far cheaper in the USA, even on the West Coast, after a near-seven-thousand mile journey…

Tac,

We have our hobbies in common. I have been a competitive shooter all my adult life. I compete in three matches a month and run one of them at my gun club.

Joe, I’m not a competitor any more these days, except with myself. I started shooting at age 6, and I’ve never stopped. That was 61 years ago.

I have -

2x .308
2 x 7.5 Swiss
2 x 7mm Mauser
1 x 6.5 Carl Gustaf
7 assorted .22s
1 x 58cal BP carbine
1 x .44cal Ruger Old Army
1 x .44cal Second Series Colt Walker
1 x Ruger Super Redhawk of the kind we can have on mainland UK

I reload and cast foe eveything except the .22.

See my channel on Youtube - tac’s guns

Now, back to trains.
Best

Always though it odd that dealers will purchase sideways through another dealer. That also typically does not give you a warranty as its not an authorized sale from the importer. I was told that Martin’s Models is the only UK dealer. They are also the only UK dealer listed in Regners dealer listing.

As to shipping I’ve shipped Regner worldwide to customers and freight is always fairly inexpensive.

I too have 2 7mm Mausers. One was brought back here from the war and the other was one of the imports. Both are matching numbers Have a .44 SS Redhawk too, the US type. hehe

Where’s the video Shawn,

So when will the video make it to the forums? I guess Shawn is slacking off again in the garage

Sounds like my Lumber Jack, one great smooth and strong puller, I’m sure you will be happy with it.

The more it runs, the better it runs. LG nick jr

Very cool, Shawn, Your layout is very realistic looking, including the snow.

Thanks I put a summerland chuffer in my Lumberjack and it makes a big difference in the sound. Now I have to see if a chuffer is doable in the Otto. I will need a resonator to pull it off though.
