I want to regauge some standard gauge McCoy trucks to G gauge. The wheels have to be insulated. Any suggestions will be appreciated.
Charles,
I don’t know what diameters you need, but I can offer a general approach. I re-axle Bachmann metal trucks. They have a metric axle, which I dump in favor of a .125 stainless steel rod. This rod could be any length. More importantly, the wheels each have insulators.
If you have any questions, let me know.

I have used bamboo skewers for axles for projects like this.
I should have given you a better answer than I did.
Typically the wheel hubs are fitted with a Delrin adapter, with an OD for the hole in the wheel and an ID for the axle size.
The back to back standard is 1.575".
I am not familiar with McCoy trucks are they smaller or larger than G? Reason I am asking is that you will have to modify the truck bolster.
