All the news about the hurricane and Narlins made me hungry for Red Beans and Rice with a little smoked sausage and some biscuits and baked apples for flavor. T’was good, may have to go back for seconds.
Gee, thanx for the invite…
I’ll have a Dagwood snack about 2200 CDST, just knock on the window.
We had an old fashioned hot dog cookout…
I wasn’t very inventive; I just had a good Porterhouse steak…and enjoyed it…
I get little ribeye’s from the local target. They grill up beautifully.

Don’t forget on order of Bananas Foster when your there.
Tonight’s menu is a shrimp and sausage boil with corn on the cob, boiled potatoes and cold slaw. SWMBO does treat me too good.
She does! Isn’t love grand???
Ric isn’t it nice to see that since the government actually responded to the hurricane this time that people behaved much better, as apposed to last time when there was complete anarchy because the government left the poor to fend for themselves!!
Isn’t it nice that the people decided to heed the gummint’s recommendation to “git outta Dodge,” unlike last time when they decided almost enmass to stay. Of cuss, now that Gustav was such a comparative wuss, what’s gonna happen next time?
People.
The food talk was more interesting.

I am preparing Curried Chicken and Veggies over Rice for my lovely bride tonight. She has to work late and has had a day from heck.
Today I prepared Gigantic Shrimp in a tomato sauce, smothered with garlic and brocoli…lots of onions, and a drip or two of olive oil…
I don’t have “Chef” Jan Golding here more than once a year, and have to make do with my own stupidity in the mean time…!!!
Pan fried Okra, vine ripened tomatos, cantalope, Grilled 6oz fillets, eggplant, corn on the cob, and chocolate marangue pie for desert, made up our meal.

If we’re gonna hijack threads here, how about we use it to exchange recipes…
