Recent posts question

Is there any way to make the new “recent posts” feature remain closed by default for an individual user? I understand that some people would complain if you hung them with a new rope but I would prefer to have the default to have the recent posts closed.

Bill:

There are a couple of (double) arrows at the right end of the “Recent Posts” button. Closing it by clicking the left pointing arrows makes it disappear and (at least here: Mac PowerBook running OS X 10.5.8 and Safari 5.0) it doesn’t reappear until it is called again by clicking on the right pointing arrows. If it’s closed when you leave the site, it is closed when you return.

When I close it and leave the site, it is open when I come back.

Verily Interesting!!

When I close it, leave the site and return, it is (so far) closed.

Just tried it again.

I now have totally exceeded my knowledge on this subject.

My friend the software engineer always says: “Written once, tested infinitely” or some such!!

Me too
Ya what Bill said!

Interesting. What browser and version are you using? I’ve tested here with the latest Firefox and IE…

Window's Internet explorer? How can you tell? Sean

Firefox 3.6.3 on Windows XP

I found the answer. I had to log off of LSC and back on to get the settings to save.

I guess it’s not working. The recent posts window keeps coming back opened when I restart for forums.

Are you clearing cookies, or accepting them at all from LSC?

I just cleared all cookies form this site. It still doesn’t work.
