Rebuild a Aristo Pacific first Video run

We just about started over with this Eng. Took it down to and started rebuilding the drive. Re wire it due to all three run if have found are difference or the running gear is difference. It took three Eng. to get this back together to run like we wanted it to… Over size 24v motor. Had to make a lot of detailed parts and fig out a coupling that will work.
We run track power so had to wire up the tender beside all axles on Eng. built in a back up light by recessing in the tender with markers LED’s built in. Move head and marker light to our specks. Still want to animate the Eng head turning and waving yet. Found a 1- 1/2 v. geared motor to run it using constance lighting from the cab and fire box.
Michael Glivan is building up another drive with bearing and difference block/ motor mounting idea. Most of our brass.
Anyway it a Jewel for us… Looks like we can add about 2 or 3 more pounds in it. It will pull a house and out run any Eng on the tracks if let it. oh need to change out the Sound card batt to a 1.3 ah. or better yet to.

Here is the link of just running it around the short part of the layout a few days ago…

Thanks Noel. Be nice to see some shots of what you did as you made it.

Wish i could jerry. but i lost most of the photos i had in my HP Puter. my fault… I was having problems with IE 8 loading up the top tool bar (blacked out bars ) and i went to the video card to change something … can’t remember what or why i was in there, but i accd. turned off the video driver… I think if i get another video card, i may be able to use it to get my screen up so i can see where the HP video card driver is so to turn it back on. not sure tho… I hate puter and just know enough to get in trouble… laf. oh well… back to trains… I can get some close up’s later on on what was added and some old parts that was pulled off and replaced to better idea maybe. Noel

Beautiful garden and that pacific looks right at home. I didn’t watch all 14 minutes, Hank was getting on my nerves  You have a water wheel or something in the background?

Hi Tom… Tks for the comment… Ya… love the setting for the Pacific… Guess it’s my branch line tour train for now.

The water wheel is the second one built. I make the first one out of Redwood about 7 foot wheel… but in lasted for about 35 yrs before it started to go a way. so I built this one out of Alum. and changed the side rods to 1 inch conduit with 14 foot over head beams… There up above the wheel 13 feet.
Alum Wheel is is 8ft.

I took down the wooden side rods that went vertical to the dutch barn and flum to old wheel…
Now just have a 1’1/2 pvc pipe for now to run it. The pond has a 2 inch pvc pipe under the pond to a 8 foot pit and is manifold to the water wheel, two waterfalls and one pit water mixer, plus a 1-1/4 pvc to back reservoir for back flush to.
All work out great with difference float valves that work auto. Never have to do anything with it… Never know when it going to turn on during the day… A timer keeps the starter/relay out on the pump during the night. I’ll get some photos of it sometime to show the working beams and pump section on other end. Anyway tk’s for asking…
