A buddy of mine found a large scale reefer in a thrift shop and after a bit of consulting we decided it was one of these but with 20 years of abuse -
It got totally dismantled (I never saw glued on roof walk ends before), scrubbed up, repairs made to broken parts, repainted, new see through walks installed, decals designed and applied (I gotta tell ya, its a real chore to do on outside braced cars :rolleyes: ) and weathered. I think it turned out pretty well.
and compared to a USAT outside braced car and standard 40 foot boxcar -
