Nico;
There is an RC place down on Rt-147.
I hope to get there Monday.
My last day and I was injured at work.
Strained tendons in my left ankle, now I’m setting here with a heating pad on it all day.
This really draws a vacuum.
David
My luck the RC place is no more, Hot Rod place now.
I think all the R C places are gone.
Use to be one in every town now nothing.
Well at least my ankle is better.
David Kapp said:Dave you can use some stiff wire for the linkage. I just bent the ends to hold them in place. Let me know what you need and I can hit hobby town by me. Im going to hit it today Ill just pick up some wire.
Last day of work. I was tinkering with the Forney earlier, I need to find a place to get some rods and connectors. To make linkage. I haven't had too much luck on finding what I need. I received my control lever from Accucraft, so I'm ready there. Any ideas?
Shawn;
Finally I think I found all I need for linkage.
Even though I had to drive a good distance to get the items.
I spent more on gas than the parts.
I also found end clips for the linkage.
Piano wire is what they called it.I think it is 24" long for a buck.
I hope the wire is strong enough. The end clips were a bit more though.
I will start on the work tomorrow.
David Kapp said:Piano wire will work and be strong enough. wait till you try to cut the wire Lol. I used the same on mine.

Hey Shawn, I’ve been following this thread and the other with great interest.
I’d love to know a few more things, mainly how you mounted the servos inside the bunker. I’ve also seen your other thread about the makeover. It would be great to see how your switch and charging jack turned out.
Thanks!
David the servo for the throttle was mounted to the front left side of the bunker. I drilled a hole so only the servo arm sticks out into the side of the bunker. Then screwed it in place. The johnson bar servo was placed to the right front of bunker on the floor. That was also screwed in place. A slit was cut in the bunkerfrom bottom almost to the top of bunker. This allows the wire to move up and down with the servo. I used a wire harnes (double pull double throw switch with wires attached) The switch is on top of bunker. I used a coal load built to hide the switch. Ill try to get some pictures for you.
Thanks!
Shawn - now that you probably have some r/c running time under your belt i wonder how you mostly control the speed. Are you adjusting the throttle or doing everything with the Johnson bar?
David I find use the Johnson bar to control the speed now. You get a finer adjustment of speed that way.
Sooner or later the Forney will run again weather or not the RC is installed.
