Raritan River #22 0-6-0

Ah! OK Lou, I thought you were lounging on the beach in Jamaica, drinking Mai Tais and soaking up the rays.

Patience = Hollywood - Rooster ???

I’m getting a headache, I’m going to bed! Good nite!

Some progress:

Engine got decals and a protective finish on the boiler front numbers, number boards, and the sides of the cab. Yeah, doesn’t sound like much, but the boxes around the cab numbers were ummmmm, challenging!

The rear of the tender gets number and a gold box, and that is REALLY challenging! No pix on that yet.

Starting to look good Lou. it’s shaping up to be a fine addition to your motive power.

Looks great Lou. I ment to ask did you get your “FREE” case of AMS stock cars when you purchased your locomotive? They have it listed on the AMS web site.

Chuck

Ummm, no. The website when I looked was $799.

This was on ebay, nobody bid. I bid in the last hour and got it for $450 plus shipping! I feel I got a good bargain I couldn’t pass up!

That’s my story and I’m stickin’ to it.

For those interested - Progress Report:

I’ve got the back and one side of the tender done. The border on the side is 8 pieces. It obviously was too large to make or handle in one piece. So I would do one curve and one side one night, etc. for several nights. Sprayed with satin finish today so I don’t screw up what I’ve already done.

I have one side left to do. Right now my favorite activity - watching paint dry!

I just previewed and the letters look every which way, but in real life they don’t! Will definitely have to post completed pictures to prove it.

Looks good Lou!

Mighty fine work there Lou

Really does look nice. Congrats on your new toy.

Ahh! I just realized that the Raritan River had yellow cabooses with the steamers. They were repainted to red when the diesel conversion happened. I do have 2 Bachmann caboose kits, so it looks like the next project is a yellow caboose to go with this.

And a Happy Fathers Day to all you Fathers out there. My Stepson took me golfing this morning and every man we passed he said “Happy Fathers Day.”

Looks good Lou.

Final Pictures as the new engine came out of the paint shop. Those gold borders were a lot of work, but I’m happy with the way it came out. I will send Stan pix, he made the decals. Does he frequent this neck of the virtual woods?

Enough talk! Pichers:

Would be great if you converted it to Battery/Radio Control…it would be a great switcher in a yard…

Nice work Lou

After all this work and money, battery and R/C might be the next thing to save my pennies for.

Lou… You done real good with the whole job… Tain’t always easy to get the old stuff off and new stuff on but you did right nicely… It looks great…

I’m so busy with everyday stuff, I don’t get here as much as I’d like… Thanks for the alert that you had her finished…
