This is not just for Ralph, father of eight. Anyone else who cares to bog in, gopher it!
One of my mates in the rifle club many moons ago had this to say about children:
“One’s not enough. Two’s just right. Three’s too many. Four’s an education.”
He had four teen-age boys at the time, and very little hair!
Ralph et al., your challenge (should you decide to accept it) is to continue where my mate left off. What is there to say about 5, 6, 7 and eight?!!
I can tell you this…Eight is Enough  I’ll just wait a few years and let Cale put in is 2 cents on 5, 6, 7.
To be fair to my wife…it is a “hers, mine and ours” situation. Of course, the last three were “ours”.
We have three daughters still at home.
Of eight, six girls, and the two boys are the oldest.
To be honest, I think there are many benefits to large families. We never used babysitters( we could not afford it ),so my wife and I worked separate shifts so one of us was and is always home with the children.
And of course, when my wife and I are gone my children will hopefully have each other for a “support” network.
Really, I think the biggest change is having the first child.
