Our Apricot tree has been fruiting exceptionally well this year. Much of the fruit has been eaten by these beautiful birds
Birds get much of the fruit from my trees also. Mullberry and Cherry trees, mostly.
My birds are not quite so exotic. Your link seems to be broken.
Ralph
Ooops. One too many periods.
It works now. Sorry about that.
The birds don’t worry about our citrus trees but they do also eat the loquat fruit and the small plums we get.
The common Galah is another regular visitor to our garden.
…as are the Eastern Rosella:
…and the Crimson Rosella:
The Sulphur Crested Cockatoo arrive in quite big flocks but never raid the fruit trees.
Did you all know the Budgerigar is a native of Australia although not around here. They are found in the drier parts of Central Australia. Their native colour is mainly green and yellow.
Perhaps someone could explain why the two links above are not showing as pictures. (Edit notes. Acting upon advice from John Radder I added the - tags to get the pics to show.
Wow! You have some colorful birds down there. That last one looks like the old standby bird pet…the Parakeet…
Australia has more species of parrots than anywhere else.
All of those I have shown visit our garden regularly, along with quite a few other species.
Except of course the last one which is the Budgerigar, This is quite small bird and a common household pet around the Word.
“…Vacuum cleaner suck up Budgie…Oh Noooo” The Clash, “The Magnificent Seven” Gorgious birds!!! We have a small resident poplulation of feral parrots here in Pasadena, results of a small flock being released from an Arboritum in the wake of a large wildfire several years ago, they are doing just fine and stop by our neighborhood all the time eating fruit out of the trees.

OK the first one is [code]
[/code] The forum software does not do well with the special characters %28 and %29 in the link. In this case, I think the IMG tags will make it work…
So there IS a reason Bob keeps those pesky IMG tags hanging around! Beautiful birds!
Ah hah!!!
Thanks John.
I will go back and edit the original posting.
Beautiful birds!!!
And around here we mostly have starlings, crows, seagulls, non-migratory Canada geese and other “trash” birds…
We do occasionally get blue jays, pretty, but obnoxious (mean and noisy)
