Railway Magazines - Free to a good home

I have inherited 89 copies of “The Railway Magazine” from my UK Father-in-Law. They date from 1928 to 1951, with only one or two complete years. [I have a list - he was an accountant, so everything was accounted for.]

The are all black and white with an occasional colored photo. Format is 9.5" x 6.5", and there aren’t many large photos. They are heavy except for the war years, when it went bi-monthly.

Topics are mostly UK oriented, although there is an ‘Overseas Railway’ section, and I found several articles on USA Express Passenger Train Performance.

Anyone interested in taking them off my hands? Free but someone has to pay for shipping, or go to the same Meet as me.

Hi Peat,

I would love to have them!

I live in West Palm Beach, Florida and two years ago won a ebay bid for 138 lbs. of Trains magazine dating back to the 1950’s. It took mr awhile but I read everyone of them. Now carefully boxed in sequence with my previous collection of Trains magazine. I must have 300 pounds total.

Do you happen to live in Florida?

What would you estimate shipping to be?

Don,

I do happen to live in Florida - but only in winter. Unfortunately they are in my summer home - Maryland. I’d hate to think what shipping will cost as they are quite heavy.

I do have a project to transport a USAT Hudson to Florida - that’s an 80# device in its wooden box. Looks like I need to find someone bringing a couple of cars south for the winter . . .

Pete,

I figured out how to send you a message.

Please check it and advise!

Don
