Anyone seen the show on Destination America? They must have been running a marathon because they had 4 episodes in a row. Very interesting little program on the operations of the Alaska Railroad. DVR’d for future episodes.
I have managed to catch one episode so far, it is a little bizzar…
It was interesting too see the train stopping almost like it was a commuter rail service… but at individuals property/land.
I am on the fence if I like it or not, it would probably help if I could remember when it is on and on what damn channel on my Fios service!
Happened to catch 3 episodes yesterday; surprised they do not have SnowSheds in the avalanche area, but very impressive equipment roster maintaining - locomotives as well as passenger consist!
I might have to check this show out but what is it with shows about trains or their hosts being a bit odd?? Remember that show last year on the Discovery Channel? where that nutty guy rode different lines around the country. He sure was enthusiastic about his trains but the audience wasn’t since the show didn’t make it past a handful of episodes.
What is it about the greatest hobby on earth that seems to draw a chuckle from the uninitiated? Recently on the local Boston news was a short clip about Rod Stewart coming to town for a concert and him visiting what was described as the most detailed layout in the world. The news casters seemed like they personally rated the story just below a kitten stuck in a tree. Fluff.
Trains are cool people. I bet even Ron Burgundy would agree.
Extreme Trains was the show…
I caught RR Alaska for the first time last night while surfing my 4,000,000 channels of garbage …very cool and enjoyable!
Yeah Extreme Trains was corny. It had some interesting stuff about trains, but the host was annoying.
